The poem is also powerful and disturbing. Is this like a self-sacrifice impulse that some women have? I don't understand it; I am the opposite, self-protective.
If there were no global THING, most of my writing would be Humor... That said, I certainly got a different take from this than was meant... Curious, yes! Anyway... think about this: How does a snake SHRUG? This is my current dilemma of ponderance...
I took the title of this piece from a song sung by Jen Cloher "Take Something Beautiful"
I don't know if she is the writer.
The song is powerful and disturbing.
The poem is also powerful and disturbing. Is this like a self-sacrifice impulse that some women have? I don't understand it; I am the opposite, self-protective.
Is the poem the words to the song?
Oh, yes, I think so.
I don't see it as a self sacrifice at all, curious! I see it more as a 'fuck off' 'get out of my face'. A story of abuse and a loud NO.
(I want a friend like yours who makes you laugh!!! She said stamping her feet!)
If there were no global THING, most of my writing would be Humor... That said, I certainly got a different take from this than was meant... Curious, yes! Anyway... think about this: How does a snake SHRUG? This is my current dilemma of ponderance...
You're making me laugh cause I have no idea what you're talking about!!! A snake SHRUG?!?!
I'm stepping into the decompressing machine now!
Maybe I'll invite a constrictor in for some hugging while shrugging.
Why baby that's the last hug you'll ever need.
