Some interesting comments from someone who would rather remain anonymous:
Mulberries aren't bushes.
They are very underrated trees though, I have 3 of them within meters from where I'm typing now.
I am very quick to notice worth.
I've had hundreds of Mulberry plants here. It is VERY easy to propagate Mulberry trees, but if you want fruit quickly use cuttings from mature trees. Mulberry trees have been demonized because they "mess" and they are super efficient, ancient, with some of the most complex genetics on the planet, yet even the leaves are super useful.
Serrapeptase, for instance, is something derived from silkworm bacteria, and it's an enzyme related to regeneration, healing, anti-inflammation and such...as opposed to IVM (which has the opposite sort of effect because IVM is synthetic and is seemingly used to counter protease fucnction).
Bizarrely, I used mulberries and milk sort of stuff to ferment feed for plants (like a yoghurt) and it smelled like meat.
You could make PH tests from mulberries or other things with high anthocyanin levels (such as Bottlebrush, which also makes for a good tea).
Serrapeptase, proteolytic enzymes (such as in sauerkraut or other fermented plants, which I could tell you about) relieve, say, "chronic airway disease".
I call fruit 'free booze on trees'. Wish I had a mulberry bush, i thought they were just mythic...from the rhyme, never seen one till now....and that is a beauty bird, amazing thanks
They seem to reseed themselves fairly easily and grow very quickly. Where I used to live in Massachusetts there was a large tree in my next door neighbor's backyard. One popped up in the narrow strip between sidewalk and road, it was such a sweet tree. I would trim it a little so folks could walk by. I loved my tiny crazy front yard in that urban/suburban neighborhood.
The rhyme pop goes the weasel has some history about breaking ones pocketbook, or such, funny how i know that rhyme, its probably hundreds of years old....hmmmm...some interesting stuff here

But the rhyme in the site you give above isn't what I remember...
That one went,
"Round and round the mulberry bush,
The monkey chased the weasel,
[something or other.... I forgot]
Pop! Goes the Weasel."
english and american, apparently the monkey (money?) stopped to pull up his sock....and pop goes the weasel....hmmm this IS deep for now...
Maybe what happens when kids don't know the words... they just make up more? lol
I thought of that rhyme instantly upon seeing the word "mulberry." ^_^
The plight of women when they had not much hope of employment and were vilified for being sexual, rock and a hard place.
It's cold here and yet the Mulberry thrives. I would certainly guess there are different species.
The lack of hope and it's association to drink.
Monkey/money poxes pop. The song could be reworked again.
I remember the first verse of the song very well, but all I think about when I think of mulberries is the waxwing!
Thanks for the links Jacquelyn!
I love this picture! Beautiful!
I borrowed it!!! From the net. It is rather awesome. Sorry I didn't find the credit!!!!
